About
Girls on the Run of Montgomery County develops joyful, healthy, and confident girls through a volunteer-led curriculum which creatively includes running. The season culminates with a Community Impact Project and a 5K Fun Run. We have fun, evidence-based programs that inspire 3rd to 8th grade girls to recognize their inner strength, increase their level of physical activity, imagine their possibilities, and confidently stand up for themselves and others.

Girls on the Run of Montgomery County is celebrating 20 years as a council! We have served over 60,000 girls in the county. Our program teaches young girls confidence, competence, caring, connection, and character along with building community. Our alumni tell stories of how they have used Girls on the Run lessons in their life now to resolve conflict, de-stress, do hard things, and include others.
