Peace Day & Cornhole Tournament
Join hundreds of local neighbors, elected leaders, and businesses for an afternoon of family-friendly fun - Saturday, July 11 (2-5pm) at World of Beer Rockville.
The City will be closing the street outside of the restaurant where the stage, craft and activity tents, faceprinting, and cornhole games will be set up.
The annual Peace Day celebration honors the life and legacy of the late teen poet and peace ambassador, Mattie J.T. Stepanek and serves as his namesake Foundation's main fundraising event.
NBCNews4's Tommy McFly is back as the emcee, and the entertainment lineup includes Ocho de Bastos, The Blarney Bench, ZamDance, and Jimmy Alexander.
As a part of the City, County, and State Peace Day Proclamation program - Mattie's mom (Dr. Jeni Stepanek - aka Mama Peace) will be leading the annual "Toast2Peace" community clink.
Also this year - the inaugural Cornhole for Peace Tournament - with a competitive bracket and open play options.
Entry to the event is free. Cornhole participation is fee-based. And a portion of the food and drink sales will benefit the Mattie Stepanek Peace Foundation.
