Accelerate Your Company’s Growth with Montgomery County’s Job Creation Fund
Employers based in Montgomery County, Md. that are company headquarters* or national nonprofit organizations, or in one of the industries listed below may be eligible for up to $500,000 in grant funding to support their growth and expansion.
The Montgomery County Job Creation Fund offers businesses a powerful incentive to expand their workforce. Eligible companies creating at least five (5) new full-time, permanent jobs with a base annual salary of $100,000 (excluding benefits) can receive up to $10,000 per new job created. For businesses located in Community Equity Index disadvantaged areas, this award increases to $12,000 per job.
 
Key Program Highlights
Businesses must be located in Montgomery County, Md, operate in one of the below target industries and hire a minimum of five full-time employees within six months of submitting an application.
●     Target Industries: Life Sciences, Advanced Technology, Cybersecurity, Quantum Computing, Hospitality.
●     Funding: Awards range from $10,000 to $12,000 per qualifying job, with a maximum total award of $500,000 per company.
●     Rolling Applications: Apply as soon as you’re ready, with funds awarded on a first-come, first-served basis until they are fully expended. We encourage companies to take advantage of this opportunity to spur their growth, but also to think strategically about their expansion.
*Company headquarters means a facility where the majority of a business entity’s financial, personnel, legal, and planning functions are handled on a regional or national basis.
 
Application Process
  1. Eligible companies must submit an Application to the Montgomery County Department of Finance. As part of the Application, the applicant will indicate the anticipated number of qualifying positions to be filled during the eligible period, as well as the anticipated hiring schedule for those positions.
  2. The date of submission of the Application will serve as the start date for a six-month period during which the company must hire a minimum of 5 qualifying positions. If the applicant would like to hire additional qualifying positions beyond the initial 5, they would have up to an additional 6 months to complete that hiring.
