NAMI MONTGOMERY COUNTY, MD SUPPORTS MENTAL HEALTH FOR ALL

Montgomery County, Maryland – May is Mental Health Awareness Month and many living in our community need resources, services, and support for themselves or a loved one to manage a challenging mental health condition. illness.

The National Alliance on Mental Illness of Montgomery County, MD, known as NAMI Montgomery County or NAMI MC, invites the community to join them at NAMIWalks on Saturday morning, May 3 at the RIO Lakefront in Gaithersburg, Maryland. This fun, community-building event generates funds for NAMI’s top-rated programs and raises awareness about mental illness to reduce stigma and strengthen community support. Registration begins at 9:00 a.m.

Our annual walk enables us to raise crucial awareness and funds to meet the mental health needs in our community. The proceeds from the walk go directly towards supporting our free community programs which includes support groups, educational classes, and resources for individuals and families affected by mental illness in Montgomery County.

To join NAMIWalks, visit www.namiwalks.org/montgomerycountymd. There is no registration fee, because it’s a peer-to-peer fundraiser. Participants are encouraged to create a walk team and raise funds for NAMI MC to provide free mental health programs to our community. Participants who raise at least $100 receive an event T-shirt.
