Community Reach of Montgomery County (Reach) is a member of the Rockville Chamber of Commerce and also serves families and Rockville and Montgomery County through the Montgomery County Holiday Giving Coalition. We commit to giving toys for children 0-12 years old, gift cards for the teens under 18, and holiday dinner baskets to all the Montgomery County families we are assigned. Last year we were able to give parents new, unwrapped toys for 375 children and gift cards for 65 teens.
Each year, Rockville Chamber helps Reach provide this assistance by asking each attendee at the December Holiday Event to donate a new, unwrapped toy or gift card. Reach will hold distribution events for the residents who were referred and registered through the Holiday Giving Coalition on Thursday, December 16 and Saturday, December 18. Parents will "shop" for the perfect gift(s) for their child. Our goal is to provide each family with about $50 worth of presents for each child. To help Reach meet that goal, please bring an unwrapped, new toy valued between $15 and $40 or a gift card valued at $25 - $30. Gift cards from Target, Five Below, Amazon, Walmart, and Kohls are especially appreciated. The menu will include Braised Beef Sliders, Spiced Chicken Sliders, Empanadas, Crispy Parmesan Polenta Fries and Hearts of Palm & Spinach Dip. Each ticket comes with 2 drinks per person which includes call and well cocktails, beer and wine by the glass.
