SUMMARY:The Neurodiversity Movement Training
DESCRIPTION:This is a 2 part series. Attendees are required to attend part 1 in order to\n\nattend part 2.\n\n \n\nPart 1 will be from 9 a.m. - 12 p.m.\n\n \n\nPart 2 will be from 12:30-3 p.m.\n\n \n\nThis presentation provides an overview of neurodiversity\, building an\n\ninclusive workforce\, breaking down barriers to employment\, and\n\nunderstanding the business case for hiring individuals of all abilities. This\n\ntraining is interactive and thought provoking\, designed to provide\n\nstrategies and education for employers to be better prepared to hire\,\n\nretain\, and manage individuals with disabilities as part of the workforce.\n\nCurrently 80% of individuals who identify as having a disability are\n\ncurrently not part of the workforce\, and this training provides business\n\nsolutions for advancing an organization&#39\;s workforce to include individuals\n\nof all abilities. This presentation will share information on: what is an\n\nadult service provider\, how to foster and sustain relationships between\n\nthe business community and adult service providers\, and first-hand\n\nexperiences from businesses and the individuals they employ. This\n\npresentation will also provide an overview of universal design and how\n\nbusinesses can apply universal design philosophies to build a more\n\ninclusive workforce. Refreshments will be provided at the training. \n\n \n\nIndividuals participating in these half-day workshops are eligible to earn 3\n\nSHRM continuing education credits.  \n\n \n\nThe training fee covers all registration and processing fees.
