SUMMARY:Celebrate 300 Years with Rockville Cemetery & Christ Episcopal Church
DESCRIPTION:Rockville Cemetery Association and Christ Episcopal Church are planning a ribbon-cutting ceremony at the Upper Cemetery at 1350 Baltimore Road at 10 am on Sunday\, September 20\, 2026\, to celebrate the 300th anniversary of Rockville's Christ Episcopal Church. Fr. Tim Carr will conduct a Sunday church service on-site\, and we will unveil a bronze plaque commemorating the 300th anniversary of the Anglican Chapel of Ease (the birthplace of the modern Christ Episcopal Church) at Historic Rockville Cemetery. \nThe event is free and open to the public\, and local elected officials are invited to attend. \nAdditionally\, several costumed historical re-enactors will make an appearance and answer questions about local history and some of Rockville's first families!\nThe event will be a good opportunity to learn about local history and preservation partnerships with local historical non-profits\, as well as see Rockville's oldest historical resource in a new way! This will be an all-ages event\, because\, as you know\, good historians are not born\, they are made! \nRockville Cemetery is looking forward to the community outreach and to delight an audience with some real-life examples of the people who built our community!
