Strategic Tradeoffs for Business Success
Overview:
Every leader faces moments when competing priorities make the path forward unclear. What the organization needs right now may conflict with what it needs to sustain itself over time, and values and practical constraints don't always point in the same direction. This session brings together business leaders to share how they make complex decisions and navigate these tensions in practice.
Through a cross-sector panel and peer discussion, participants will gain insight into the types of trade-offs leaders navigate across sectors and organizational contexts. Together, we will explore how leaders balance immediate organizational needs against long-term sustainability, surface practical approaches for making complex decisions, and discuss how to communicate and lead through those decisions when there is no clear right answer.
Outcomes
By participating in this session, you will be able to:
- Recognize the most common tradeoffs leaders face when short-term needs and long-term goals compete
- Examine how peers across sectors are weighing values and practical constraints in their decision-making process
- Identify at least one approach to making and communicating complex decisions that you can apply in your own organization
